The Optical Communications Group is located in Building 161 at Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, California. OCTL (Optical Comm Telescope Laboratory), a newly-constructed 1-m telescope dedicated to optical comm, is located at NASA's Table Mountain Facility (TMF) in Wrightwood, California.

The Atmospheric Visibility Monitor consists of three observatories in Mt. Lemmon, Arizona, Goldstone, California and Table Mountain, California.
